Warrington Bus Interchange
Warrington Bus Interchange is the principal transport hub for all local bus services in Warrington and provides regional connection services to major towns and cities within the North West of England including Liverpool, Manchester and Chester.
At peak times, over 2,000 people per hour use the interchange. The terminus is a major thoroughfare for those arriving at Central Station and for shoppers to the newly re-developed Golden Square shopping centre.
On a daily basis, staff were having to deal with a huge number of basic customer enquiries regarding transport connections, local attractions, healthcare services and local hotels which was having a knock-on effect on queues for ticket sales and causing congestion in the main concourse.
To combat this problem and therefore improve the service provided to customers, Warrington Borough Council installed InfoPoint’s multi-line Help Point providing direct free telephone links to Traveline, National Rail Enquiries, tourist attractions, police, shopmobility and others.
As well as providing comprehensive information to the public at the touch of a button, the Help Points also allow important information to be provided out-of-hours when ticket offices are unmanned. This is a key requirement as stipulated by VisitBritain.
