Case study

Parkside Police Station, Cambridge
Cambridge’s principal police station based in the city centre, Parkside, has installed InfoPoint’s Directory Multi-Line Help Point outside the station. The location of the new Help Point outside means that Cambridge residents as well as staff can use the service to make free telephone calls to a wide range of information and service providers. Amongst the programmed numbers are helplines for domestic violence and alcohol addiction making it easier for the public to call such services anonymously.

Testimonial

The InfoPoint at Parkside Police Station gives free direct links to a number of Local Services, including Council Services, Transport Services, Health Services, University and various police services to name a few. The design of the information point includes visual information relating to the Neighbourhood Policing areas within the City. The Unit enhances the service we are able to give to the public both visitng the station and passing by and is an asset to the station.

Benefits

The installation of an InfoPoint Help Point offers a number of benefits to your local government building, the general public and staff making this an unbeatable addition to the service you provide.

Save staff time and improve productivity

By enabling people to access certain service and information providers directly, it means your staff are freed up to focus on other tasks like handling more complicated, face-to-face enquiries. Hours upon hours of staff time is spent calling taxi companies and providing basic information which can all be handled quickly and easily by an InfoPoint Help Point and, at no cost to you. Gala Bingo chose the Nectar Card Helpline as one of their freephone direct links which saved an enormous amount of time as staff were previously handling customers’ Nectar Card enquiries for them. Now, they can focus on signing in new members.

Reduce overheads by cutting phone bills

Calls using InfoPoint Help Points are made free of charge to the end user and free of charge to you. The cost of the calls is billed directly to InfoPoint and is not passed on. This will reduce dramatically your telephone bill as calls to taxis and other numbers are covered by InfoPoint.

Promote sustainable travel plans

Many organisations are seeking to implement green travel initiatives to increase the use of public transport and help reduce the number of journeys made using private vehicles. An InfoPoint Help Point with a free phone link to an information provider like Traveline or local bus or rail stations makes it easier for people to use public transport. Cardiff & Vale NHS Trust installed InfoPoint Help Points as part of its sustainable travel plan helping to achieve their goals in terms of improving access to public transport information.

Complete service provision

An InfoPoint representative will visit you, with no obligation, to discuss your needs and assess the potential locations for the Help Point. Should you decide to go ahead, one of our team will work closely with you to decide upon the right product for you and agree which services and information providers you would like to link to. Then, an engineer will arrange a convenient time to you to install the product, demonstrate its operation and will return to maintain the unit at regular intervals.
We are also keen to hear any feedback from your end users.

User-friendly

InfoPoint Help Points are designed to ensure ease of use for everyone. Their push-button operation means the units are intuitive and do not disadvantage those who are not computer literate.

Connecting your customers

Our Help Points help you provide an added-value service to the public and your staff and connect them, free of charge, to useful information and service providers helping to make their lives that little bit easier. Use an InfoPoint Help Point to give the public direct, free access to helplines, travel and community information and even local attractions.
